We’re Gill and Kim and we would love to welcome you to our self-catering apartment in Bodmin, Cornwall.
The Honeypot started life as home to Gill’s Mum who became known to all as Honey-B. At that time our young son had been unable to say ‘granny’ which came out as 'honey' and 'B' being the first initial of her surname, Honey-B just kind of stuck.
We had come on holiday to Cornwall in July 1999 and Polgwyn, up for sale at the time, simplyfound us - on the very last day of our summer holidays!
A few days later, we made a day-trip by train to Bodmin with Honey-B and Ben for them to see the house too. We returned home that night and the very next day put in an offer to buy Polgwyn – and put our own on the market too! The rest as they say is history and so here we are - and Polgwyn is where we hope to be for evermore.
Shortly after moving, we did a complete refurbishment of the apartment before Honey moved-in in July 2000 at which point we revived Bedknobs, our 4-star B&B that Gill had already run for 10 years upcountry.
Sadly in 2003, Honey passed and as time passed too, The Honeypot became home to friends, family and our overspill B&B guests. Since finally putting Bedknobs multi-award winning B&B to bed in September 2018, The Honeypot has now become purely self-catering and we’ve been delighted to welcome back many B&B guests who have stayed over the years. Indeed, we hope this will continue and look forward to welcoming many first-time Visitors too.
The Honeypot is completely self-contained with it's own entrance as an annexe to our large rambling house that is ‘Polgwyn’. We are always on-site to welcome you and available to help you enjoy your stay.
Now it goes without saying that we would like you to return home as safe as when you arrive, so this is what we have in place:
And whilst staying here in Cornwall, should you visit any place at all that might cause you concern, please don’t hesitate to tell us so that we may share with others in the Hospitality Industry and if necessary, report to the appropriate bodies. Our concern is to ensure that Cornwall’s Visitors as well us who live here, all stay as safe as possible.
Thank you, stay safe and enjoy your visit to Cornwall.
*Gill and Kim*
